Students in Year 7 and 8 participate in an 'integrated' sport program. This involves them having additional sporting time allocated into their weekly timetable. During this time they participate in a range of the sports in the above list. Students in Years 7 and 8 also participate in bi-annual Gala Days where they compete against other schools in a selection of sports.
Students in Year 9 and above participate in a weekly sport program where time is allocated on a Thursday afternoon. Students can elect to do a social sport or participate in grade sport, competing against other schools in our local zone. The emphasis on all school sport is in participation however, Pennant Hills High is extremely competitive in a wide range of sports at the highest level. Some of our results in both local zone, and statewide competitions are shown below.
The school also conducts very competitive annual carnivals in swimming, athletics and cross-country running. Again, while the emphasis of these is for all students to participate, there is a very competitive element within our student body who provide some outstanding individual and team results. From these carnivals, the school selects a team in each sport to compete at zone level against other schools. Again we have been very successful in these :
Athletics - Zone Champions for the last 14 years in succession.
Cross Country - Zone Champions for the last 15 years in succession.
Swimming - Consistently placed in the top 3 at Zone Championship Carnival for the last 12 years.
