LATE ARRIVAL
Students who arrive at school late in the morning must report to the Student Reception area, where their attendance will be recorded.
Teachers WILL NOT admit a late arrival to class without a late note.
The fact that their arrival was late will be recorded, unless there is a reasonable excuse for the lateness. An example of reasonable excuse is late bus or train arrival. To catch a late train is not a reasonable excuse.
On the second occasion that a students’ lateness is recorded, a warning will be issued that, on the next occasion, an after school detention will be issued.
After the third late arrival, without a reasonable excuse, an after school detention will be issued by the Head Teacher Administration (Students). The detention note will serve as a notification to parents that lateness is unacceptable.
If the pattern of lateness continues, a second detention will be issued following the sixth late arrival. The Head Teacher Administration (Students) will refer the student to the appropriate Deputy Principal for placement on the school’s level system.
Continued lateness may need to be referred to another person for appropriate intervention. This other person may include the School Counselor or Home School Liaison Officer
