P & C HAPPENINGS
WELCOME to the Pennant Hills High School P & C page.
Information will be posted here in the near future informing you of meeting details, working bees, canteen news and all other relevant information from the school Parents and Citizens Association.
In the mean time, keep in mind that our meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Start time is 7.30pm. Venue is the school library. All parents are welcome to attend.
The Pennant Hills High School P&C works proactively and collaboratively to support the staff in the provision of quality education for our students. As a forum for the expression and discussion of ideas and issues, it also offers parental perspectives on the financing of projects and resources in the school.
With a growing emphasis on e-learning in schools, the P&C contributed funding to purchase electronic whiteboards, data projectors and laptop computers to ensure our students and teachers are at the forefront of the latest educational technology. Over $65,000 was also provided to supplement the basic provisions from the Department of Education and Training in all faculties. Items purchased included: books and resources for the library, a marquee for PDHPE for protection from the sun for students competing in sporting carnivals, a xylophone, baritone saxophone and double bass case for the bands, electrical equipment for Home Economics, and top dressing and seating for the school grounds.
The covered outdoor learning area (COLA), to which the P&C contributed a substantial sum, was officially opened in 2006. This has been beneficial for students, allowing PE activities to be conducted in all weather conditions.
P&C volunteers participated in the merit selection of school staff and were members of school committees and teams. They were also critical to the continued success of our healthy canteen, which provides catering for a wide range of school activities, and had a significant role in the organisation and functioning of the four school bands.
The partnership between the school and the P&C is providing a strong educational culture that allows all students the best possible opportunity to develop their skills and talents.
